Perfluorophenyl-Directed Giant Porphyrin J-Aggregates

3/21/2019  · In contrast, ??stacked interactions of porphyrin bearing two nonfluorinated phenyl terminals (2) formed no aggregates in solution. A spin?cast film of 1 also showed bathochromic shift of the Soret and Q bands, indicating the formation of J?aggregates. The molecular arrangement of the J?aggregates was revealed by microbeam glazing?incidence wide?angle X?ray diffraction (GIWAXD), and was in.

Abstract Quadrupolar interactions of porphyrin bearing two pentafluorophenylethynyl terminals (1) drove the formation of a successive one?dimensional staircase structure, i.e.

J?aggregates, to yie…

Perfluorophenyl?terminated porphyrin self?assembled into exceptionally large J?aggregates in methylcyclohexane a solvophobic effect of methylcyclohexane on perfluoroarene enhanced a self?complementary quadrupolar interaction between the perfluorophenyl group and the porphyrin ring, and caused nucleation growth of needles. Eventually, the longitudinal size of porphyrin J ? aggregates .

J-Aggregation is a special type of fluorophore aggregation, affording enhanced photophysical properties. Cyanine dyes are excellent J-aggregators in water but, until now, cyanine J-aggregates have not been translated to nonaqueous media.

5/1/2010  · We report the dependence of the polarizability difference ? ? on the orientational distribution of porphyrin J-aggregates. For quasi-one-dimensionally oriented aggregates in a polymer film, the red shift in Y ? F configuration was about 2 to 3 times smaller than that in Y ? F configuration, where Y is the orientational direction of the J-aggregates and F is the applied AC electric field vector.
